The teaching of reading is relatively important in some places in China. Therefore, we recommend the method of Reading in Three Stages. That is, pre-reading, while-reading, and post-reading. Teaching reading this way can not only improve the reading skills of students, but also meet students' need to learn grammar.
In order to counteract the effect of the present way of 'testing' listening comprehension, the paper puts forward a new format to teach listening in China. Six categories of activities are recommended and one of them is discussed in length by giving 5 examples to illustrate what the Listen-and-Do format is like.
