We investigate the mechanism of recurrent oral ulceration. sVCAM 1 and sICAM 1 were measured with an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay using sandwich technices in 45 patients (23 males, 22 females, with the mean age of 31 years) and 40 nomal control (all males, equal age to ROU). sVCAM 1 in patients was higher than that in the control ( P <0.05). sICAM 1 in patients was not higher than that in the control ( P >0.05). Both were not significant to ROU active and ROU free. Above results indicate that sVCAM 1 might play a role in the recurrent oral ulceration.
