A positive material LiNi1/6Co1/6Mn2/3O2 has been prepared by using solid-liquid phase method. A layer structure similar to LiMnO2 was shown by XRD analysis. The positive electrode of the material had a higher specific capacity, and the reversible specific capacity and irreversible capacity increased with the increase of charge cut-off voltage which has the optimum value of 4.4 V. The battery using the material had higher initial charge-discharge efficiency and better high rate discharge performance, and the cyclic life had also been improved obviously. At the same time, the battery was with excellent high and low temperature performance, and safe performance.
