The cytomorphology of microsporogenesis in male fertility and male sterile of peaches was studied under controlled conditions. The results showed that "Chuanzhongdao" White Peach had no obvious differences from microsporcyte meiosis, tetrads to mononuclear spherical microspores from male fertility variety. Microspores began to abort at its further development, that is,the nucleus disappeared, the cytoplasm reduced and became light staining , and the empty pollen grains were produced at last. The tapetum, endothecium and middle layer of anthers developed abnormally at later stage, which expressed that the tapetum cells did not disintegrate completely; the middle layer cells enlarged; and the endothecium cells lengthened radially early, but there were no fibrous thickenings in the endothecium cells.
