Sima Qian, the writer of Shih Chi, delineated patriotic individuals from different classes in different historical periods who are loyal to their countries, caring to the living of the people and resolved in fighting aggressions and defending their own countries. The patriotism they represented has a far-reaching influence upon generations to come.
