The arithmetic problems “Bingzu 并租” and “Qizong启从(纵)” in the Han slips Mathematical Book from Zhangjiashan record a method of proportional division and a simple and direct method of dividing the fraction. In the Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art, the method of proportional division is stated in a way different from that in the Mathematical Book, and there is no such a simple and convenient method of dividing the fraction. But in Liu Hui' s Commentary of the :“Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art”, there are contents concerned with the above-mentioned problems recorded in the Mathematical Book. These differences of the three books reflect that a variety of changes of ancient Chinese mathematical works happened when they were spread and handed down.
