With the process of globalization,more intercultural encounters are raising with the exchange of ideas,values,worldviews etc.To understand better of how each elements functions in the course of the intercultural communication,this paper explores the film Desert Flower from nonverbal codes.On the basis of discussion and analysis in the paper,it can be concluded that nonverbal codes play a significant role in intercultural relations,which molds the extraordinary life of Waris Dirie.Although the observations are grounded on the scenes of an artificial film,those intercultural encounters do exist.Strategies adopted in the film to cope with communication issues could be applied to the intercultural settings in real life.
