Ga(ClO4)3-catalyzed reaction of 1,2-aryldiamines and α-bromoketones to afford 2-substituted quinoxalines in good yields is described. The reaction proceeded via grinding process with 10%(molar fraction) catalyst under solvent-free conditions at room temperature. For unsymmetrical o-phenylenediamines bearing electron-withdrawing groups,regio-selective quinoxalines were obtained.
A direct and efficient approach to synthesize imidazo[1,2-α]pyridines through three-component one-pot reaction of 2-aminopyridine,aldehyde and terminal alkyne catalyzed by Cu-nanoparticles under solvent-free conditions has been developed. This method provides a rapid access to substituted imidazo[1,2-α]pyridines with good yields(up to 85%).
