Improvement of electron injection of organic light-emitting devices by inserting a thin aluminum layer into cesium carbonate injection layer

We investigate the electron injection effect of inserting a thin aluminum(Al) layer into cesium carbonate(Cs2CO3)injection layer. Two groups of organic light-emitting devices(OLEDs) are fabricated. For the first group of devices based on Alq3, we insert a thin Al layer of different thickness into Cs2CO3 injection layer, and the device's maximum current efficiency of 6.5 cd/A is obtained when the thickness of the thin Al layer is 0.4 nm. However, when the thickness of Al layer is 0.8 nm, the capacity of electron injection is the strongest. To validate the universality of this approach, then we fabricate another group of devices based on another blue emitting material. The maximum current efficiency of the device without and with a thin Al layer is 4.51 cd/A and 4.84 cd/A, respectively. Inserting a thin Al layer of an appropriate thickness into Cs2CO3 layer can result in the reduction of electron injection barrier, enhancement of the electron injection, and improvement of the performance of OLEDs. This can be attributed to the mechanism that thermally evaporated Cs2CO3 decomposes into cesium oxides, the thin Al layer reacts with cesium oxides to form Al–O–Cs complex, and the amount of the Al–O–Cs complex can be controlled by adjusting the thickness of the thin Al layer.

用蓝色有机荧光材料N6,N6,N12,N12-tetrap-tolylchrysene-6,12-diamine(DNCA)作为发光层,在发光层中间以及发光层与电子传输层之间插入2-methyl-9,10-di(2-napthyl)anthracene(MADN)和9,10-di(2-naphthyl)anthracene(ADN)作为电荷控制层,制备了结构为ITO/NPB(40 nm)/DNCA(15 nm)/MADN(3nm)/DNCA(15 nm)/ADN(3 nm)/Bphen(30 nm)/LiF(0.8 nm)/Al(120 nm)的蓝色有机电致发光器件(OLED)。该器件的最大电流效率和最大亮度分别为5.6 cd/A和23 310 cd/m2。与传统的单发光层器件相比,最大电流效率和最大亮度分别提高了70%和87%。器件发光性能的提高可归结于两个电荷控制层在整个器件中的协同作用。第一电荷控制层MADN的作用主要是将发光层区域分成两个部分,从而扩大了激子在发光层中的复合区域;第二电荷控制层ADN可以有效地将空穴限制在发光层中,避免了激子在电子传输层中形成的无辐射跃迁从而提高了器件的发光性能。

White organic light emitting devices with a color conversion layer被引量:3

A white organic light emitting device(WOLED) combining the blue organic light emitting device with a red color conversion layer(CCL) is reported,which includes a fluorescent material N-(4-((E)-2-(6-((E)-4-(diphenylamino) styryl)naphtha len-2-yl)vinyl) phenyl)-N-phenylbenzenamine(N-BDAVBi) doped into 4,4'-N,N'-dicarbazole-biphenyl(CBP) as the blue light emitting layer,and the poly(2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexoxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene(MEH-PPV) as a red CCL.By optimizing the concentration of MEH-PPV in the CCL,a good white light emission is obtained,which shows that the stable CIE coordinates of(0.33,0.34) will have a slight change when the driving voltage is increased from 6 to 11 V.The maximum brightness and current efficiency of the optimized device are 11294 cd/m2 and 6.4 cd/A,respectively.

利用色彩转换法制备高色稳定性的柔性白色有机电致发光器件被引量:1

本文利用色转换方法,将高效的蓝色柔性有机电致发光器件(flexible organic light emitting devices,FOLEDs)与色转换材料(color conversion material,CCM)相结合,制备了柔性白色有机电致发光器件(white organic light emittingdevices,WOLEDs).首先利用2,3,5,6-Tetrafluoro-7,7,8,8-tetracyano-quinodimethane(F4-TCNQ)和4,4′,4″-tris-(N-3-methylphenyl-N-phenylamino)tripheny-lamine(m-MTDATA)组成的多量子阱(multiple quantum well,MQW)结构作为空穴注入层(hole injection layer,HIL)结合新型蓝光材料N^6,N^6,N^(12),N^(12)-tetrap-tolylchrysene-6,12-diamine(NCA)制备出高效的蓝光FOLEDs,然后将其与色转换材料4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-tert-butyl-6-(1,1,7,7-tetramethyljulolidyl-9-enyl)-4H-pyran(DCJTB)结合,通过沉积不同厚度的CCM来优化白光器件的发光光谱,获得了色稳定性较高的白光.实验结果表明:在驱动电压为7 V,DCJTB的厚度为120 nm时得到较接近白光等能点的色坐标(0.33,0.27),且当驱动电压由6 V升至11 V时,器件的色坐标变化仅为(30.02,±0.02),表现出高色稳定性.

Research of organic field effect transistors based on semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes被引量:1

The metal-conducting single-walled carbon nanotubes(m-SWNTs)with small diameters(0.7 nm-1.1 nm)are selectively removed from the single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs)by using HNO 3 /H 2 SO 4 mixed solution.Semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes(s-SWNTs)can be separated efficiently from the SWNTs with high controllability and purity based on this novel method,and the outcome is characterized by Raman spectrum.Moreover,the organic field effect transistors(OFETs)are fabricated based on the poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl)(P3HT),and untreated SWNTs and separated SWNTs(s-SWNTs)are mixed with P3HT,respectively.It could be found that the P3HT/s-SWNT device exhibits a better field effect characteristic compared with the P3HT device.The current on/off ratio is increased by 4 times,the threshold voltage is also increased from-28 V to-22 V,and the mobility is increased from 3×10-3 cm2/Vs to 5×10-3 cm2/Vs.

Effect of NaCl doped into Bphen layer on the performance of tandem organic light-emitting diodes被引量:1

To improve the performance of tandem organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs), we study the novel NaCl as n-type dopant in Bphen:NaCl layer. By analyzing their relevant energy levels and carrier transporting characteristics, we discuss the mechanisms of the effective charge generation layer(CGL) of Bphen:NaCl(6 wt%)/MoO3. In addition, we use the Bphen:NaCl(20 wt%) layer as the electron injection layer(EIL) combining the CGL to further improve the performance of tandem device. For this tandem device, the maximal current efficiency of 9.32 cd/A and the maximal power efficiency of 1.93 lm/W are obtained, which are enhanced approximately by 2.1 and 1.1 times compared with those of the singleemissive-unit device respectively. We attribute this improvement to the increase of electron injection ability by introducing of Bphen:NaCl layer. Moreover, the CGL is almost completely transparent in the visible light region, which is also important to achieve an efficient tandem OLEDs.

利用蓝色有机发光二极管激发荧光色彩转换膜的方法,制备了一种新型的白色有机电致发光器件。蓝色有机发光二极管的发光层采用4,4’-Bis(carbazol-9-yl)biphenyl(CBP)主体掺杂高效蓝色荧光染料N-(4-((E)-2-(6-((E)-4-(diphenylamino)styryl)naphthalen-2-yl)vinyl)phenyl)-N-phenylbenzenamine(N-BDAVBi)来制备。有机/无机复合色彩转换膜是将有机荧光颜料VQ-D25和无机荧光粉掺铈钇铝石榴石(YAG:Ce3+)按一定的重量比均匀分散到-[CH3CH2COOCH3]n-(PMMA)中来制备。获得了色稳定性较高的白色有机电致发光器件。当驱动电压由6升至14V时,器件光谱非常稳定且CIE色坐标仅从(0.354,0.304)变化到(0.357,0.312),其最高电流效率约为5.8cd.A-1(4.35mA.cm-2),最高亮度为16800cd.m-2(14V)。

利用Cs基衍生物作为n型掺杂剂改善蓝色有机发光二极管的效率(英文)被引量:3

利用两种Cs基衍生物碳酸铯(Cs2CO3)和醋酸铯(CH3COOCs)作为n型掺杂剂掺入到一种新型的电子传输材料2,9-二(2-萘基)-4,7-二苯基-1,10-菲啰啉(NBPhen)中来提高有机发光二极管(OLEDs)的效率.实验结果表明:器件的驱动电压明显降低,并且优化后得到的Cs基n型掺杂器件(ITO/β-NPB/CBP:5%(w)N-BDAVBi/NBPhen/NBPhen:Cs2CO3(or CH3COOCs)/Al)呈现出较好的电致发光性能,在14 V时电流密度分别为551.80和527.88 mA·cm-2,对应的亮度分别达到39750和39820 cd·m-2,电流效率在亮度为10000 cd·m-2时分别为14.60 cd·A-1(Cs2CO3掺杂)和14.40 cd·A-1(CH3COOCs掺杂),这些参数明显优于传统器件的发光性能(ITO/β-NPB/CBP:5%(w)N-BDAVBi/NBPhen/Cs2CO3/Al,其在14 V时电流密度为312.39 mA·cm-2,对应的亮度为25190 cd·m-2;电流效率在亮度为10000 cd·m-2时为9.45 cd·A-1.此外,基于有机半导体掺杂原理和器件的能级结构对n型掺杂器件效率提高的原因进行了分析.

利用蓝色有机发光二极管激发荧光色彩转换膜的方法,制备了一种新型的白色有机电致发光器件.蓝色有机发光二极管的发光层采用在4,4′-Bis(carbazol-9-yl)biphenyl(CBP)主体中掺杂高效蓝色荧光染料N-(4-((E)-2-(6-((E)-4-(diphenylamino)styryl)naphthalen-2-yl)vinyl)phenyl)-N-phenylbenzenamine(N-BDAVBi)来制备.有机/无机复合色彩转换膜是将有机荧光颜料VQ-D25和无机荧光粉钇铝石榴石(YAG)按一定的重量比均匀分散到-[CH3CH2COOCH3]n-(PMMA)中经涂敷、固化而成.通过与单纯有机或无机色彩转换膜的比较及调整复合转换膜本身的厚度和荧光颜料的掺杂比例来优化白光器件的发光光谱,获得了色稳定性较高的白色有机电致发光器件.当驱动电压由6V升至14V时,器件的色坐标仅在(0.354,0.304)和(0.357,0.312)之间变化,其最高电流效率约为5.8cd/A(4.35mA/cm2),最高亮度为16800cd/m2(14V).

Lowering the driving voltage and improving the luminance of blue fluorescent organic light-emitting devices by thermal annealing a hole injection layer of pentacene

We chose pentacene as a hole injection layer(HIL) to fabricate the high performance blue fluorescent organic lightemitting devices(OLEDs). We found that the carrier mobility of the pentacene thin films could be efficiently improved after a critical annealing at temperature 120?C. Then we performed the tests of scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and Kelvin probe to explore the effect of annealing on the pentacene films. The pentacene film exhibited a more crystalline form with better continuities and smoothness after annealing. The optimal device with 120?C annealed pentacene film and n-doped electron transport layer(ETL) presents a low turn-on voltage of 2.6 V and a highest luminance of 134800 cd/m^2 at 12 V, which are reduced by 26% and improved by 50% compared with those of the control device.
