Simulation of biodiesel industrial production via solid base catalyst in a fixed-bed reactor

Biodiesel industrial production based on a solid base catalyst in a fixed-bed was simulated. The lab and bench scale experiments were carded out effectively, in which the kinetic model is established and it can describe the transesterification reaction well. The Antoine equation of biodiesel is regressed with the vapor-liquid data cited of literature. The non-random two liquid (NRTL) model is applied to describe the system of fatty acid methyl ester (FAME), methanol and glycerol and parameters are obtained. The Ternary phase map is obtained from Aspen Plus via the liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data. In order to describe the production in a fixed-bed performs in industrial scale after being magnified 1 000 times, the Aspen Plus simulation is employed, where two flowsheets are simulated to predict material and energy consumption. The simulation results prove that at least 350. 42 kW energy consumption can be reduced per hour to produce per ton biodiesel compared with data reported in previous references.

Influences of process parameters on solvent-free toluene oxidation over Au /γ-MnO_2 catalyst

γ-MnO2 nanorobs and Au/γ-MnO2 catalysts were synthesized and characterized by the X-ray powder diffraction XRD the scanning electron microscope SEM and transmission electron microscope TEM . The characterizations show that Au particles are well dispersed on the surface of γ-MnO2 nanorobs with a particle size of about 10 nm.The catalytic performance is evaluated in solvent-free toluene oxidation with oxygen. The influences of several process parameters such as reaction time reaction temperature initial oxygen pressure and catalyst amounts on the catalytic performance are studied.Catalytic results reveal that Au/γ-MnO2 catalyst has a unique selectivity to benzaldehyde and all these factors greatly influence the conversion of toluene and selectivity of bezaldehyde benzoic acid and benzyl benzoate.However these factors have slight influence on the selectivity of benzyl alcohol.

采用氧化还原法制备了α, δ, γ-MnO2载体, 采用原位还原法制备了Au负载量为0.5%-3.0%的Au/γ-MnO2催化剂, 并采用X射线衍射、扫描电镜、透射电镜和N2物理吸附等手段对其进行了表征. 透射电镜照片表明Au/γ-MnO2催化剂中Au颗粒的大小约为10nm. 采用无溶剂存在下的甲苯氧化反应测试所制备样品的催化活性. 结果表明, 甲苯转化率随着Au负载量的增加而增大. 这是由于Au颗粒数量增多, 尺寸减小的缘故. 同时, 负载Au颗粒对苯甲醛具有较高的选择性. Au/γ-MnO2催化剂具有良好的重复使用性.

通过等体积浸渍法制备了Nb2O5,MgF2,TiO2和SiO2负载和未负载的钒铬氧化物催化剂,并应用X射线衍射、N2吸附-脱附、H2程序升温还原和NH3程序升温脱附对催化剂进行了表征.结果表明,催化剂比表面积较大时有利于CrVO4-I(单斜)的生成,比表面积较小则有利于CrVO4-III(斜方)的生成.在310–400℃下3-甲基吡啶氨氧化制备3-氰基吡啶反应中,具有较高催化活性的催化剂与V物种还原性较高和表面活性位数量较多有关;而高的3-氰基吡啶选择性则与催化剂表面较低的酸性密切相关.升高反应温度可大幅度提高催化剂的活性,且其选择性基本不变.

In situ synthesis and characterization of Ca–Mg–Al hydrotalcite on ceramic membrane for biodiesel production

In situ surface synthesis of Ca–Mg–Al hydrotalcite(HT) on inorganic ceramic membrane(CM) was investigated with urea as precipitator. The effects of molar ratio of raw materials, crystallization time, and temperature on surface synthesis of HT were examined. The as-prepared HT/CM samples were characterized by XRD and SEM and an in situ growth mechanism of HT on CM was proposed. KF/HT/CM obtained by loading potassium fluoride(KF) on the HT layer by impregnation and calcination method was used as catalyst for transesterification between palm oil and methanol. The comparison of KF/HT/CM and pure KF/HT powder under identical reaction conditions shows that the production of fatty acid methyl ester is equivalent, which means that the use of inorganic catalytic membrane in the transesterification is a viable alternative.
