Objective To investigate the psychological conditions of the HIV infected and their families in a AIDS village in Shanxi Province and to provide reference for AIDS intervention and decision-making.Methods The HIV infected,the families of the HIV infected and the normal(control group) are investigated by Self-rating Anxiety Scale,Self-rating Depression Scale,General Quality of Life Inventory and Social Support Assessment Scale.Results ①The source of the greatest subjective pressure of the HIV infected mostly comes from the problem of economy.②In regard to the total scores of anxiety,depression,quality of life and social support,significant differences are found between the infected group and the control group and between the families group and the control group.Conclusion①Improving local people’s knowledge and bringing about prosperous economy probably can reduce the incidence of HIV infection to some extent.②The HIV infected and their families have poor psychological conditions and it’s necessary to exert psychological intervention on them.
